Nathalie is available to talk at your local group, school or event to share her families journey of self sufficiency and building a resilient future through backyard food security. Internships on the Willmott’s 54 acre permaculture farm are now available, enquire using the form below.

Nathalie graduated from her 147 hour PDC through Pete the Permie mid 2020 covering Permaculture Design and Permaculture Applied Practical Skills. She has been pottering in the garden since she was a child, but her passion for living self sufficiently began on on her honeymoon 12 years ago when she visited her husbands friends farm and saw what they were doing on their own self sufficient homestead. It was here that she first learned of the atrocities of industrialized agriculture and the beauty of heirloom seeds. For 10 years Nathalie and her family dreamed of moving to a farm where they would have the space to be self sufficient, but in the mean time grew all that they could in their suburban backyard. In mid 2018 her families dream came true and they were to move to a 54 acre farm in West Gippsland, Victoria, Australia where they quickly started setting up the infrastructure they would need to start living off the land. At the beginning of spring in 2019 Nathalie decided that the quickest way to become self sufficient was to challenge her family to a year of eating only what they could grow, forage for, barter for and purchase pantry staples with the funds they make from selling their excess produce. It was through this journey that they learned the true meaning of what it takes to become fully self reliant.

Internships Now Available - APPLICATIONS CLOSED

Would you like hands on experience on how to farm self sufficiently on a productive permaculture farm?

We have internships available now ranging from 1 week to 1 month. These are on a volunteer basis, much like a WWOOFing position would work. Exchanging 4-6 hours work on the farm for living and learning exchange.

We would provide accommodation and meals, but we are flexible if you prefer to bring your own accommodation or desire to cook your own meals (you would have access to fresh food grown here on the farm).

Nathalie can help you with your permaculture education during this time, showing real life examples of how some of these systems work.

Enquire Now and we will get in touch.
